The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has confirmed that Lazio football coach Cesare Prandelli has resigned following his team’s Champions League defeat by Barcelona.
The announcement was made by FIGC president Francesco Totti.
Prandelli has also been banned for two games for the match at the Camp Nou.
The FIGC confirmed the news on Twitter, saying: Prandella resigned from the position due to a medical condition.
It was confirmed in a statement by FIGS secretary-general Stefano De Martino, who added: The Italian FA is very happy that Prandello has resigned from his position.
Pradelli will be suspended from the squad until the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup in France in May.
The Italian club has yet to confirm his successor.
The news of Prandells resignation was first reported by Italian media, including The Corriere dello Sport.
